REV. MICHAEL HOLLAND 

The Rev. Michael Holland, OCSO, 77, a Trappist monk at the Abbey of Our Lady 
of New Melleray, died Saturday at the abbey. Father Holland was born at North 
Bay, Ontario, Canada and was ordained in 1927 at an abbey in the eastern part 
of the United States. He came to New Melleray in 1945. He was instrumental in 
the abbey building program in the 1950's. Mass was offered at 7:30 a.m. Monday 
in the Abbey Church with burial in the abbey cemetery. There are no known 
immediate survivors.
