SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS

Kenneth H. Bliss, Jones county farm hand, was sentenced to fifteen years in
prison at Fort Madison, following a two day hearing before Judge D. V. Jackson.
Bliss pled guilty to a charge of strangling Mrs. Ethel Streets at her home in
Canton, following a dispute over Mrs. Streets' failure to make good a check she
had written him. Bliss pled guilty to the charge of murder last Tuesday morning,
at which time Judge Jackson set 2:00 p.m. last Wednesday as time for hearing on
evidence to determine the degree of guilt.
