Ferry Steamer ‘Peosta’

Already has the ferry steamer ‘Peosta’-a favorite name hereaway-begun to 
vibrate to and fro, from shore to shore, like the grand pendulum it is, 
forever timing the march of western emigration. During three months of last 
year, more than eight thousand men, with their wives and their children and 
all that they had, were swung over thereby to the Iowa shore, and radiated 
away to kindle the light of new homes in the young state. Every day it pays 
the tribute of clear heads and strong hands to the present wealth of the 
population.
