The three Indians tried in Dubuque for the murder of the Teagarden family were found guilty and sentenced to be hung on the 12th inst., but subsequently have been reprieved until the 13th of October. Davenport Gazette, Davenport, Iowa Territory, October 19, 1843. Another reprieve- The Indians under sentence of death at Dubuque, have been granted another respite of three weeks by the Governor. His object is to hear of the action of the President, to whom he has applied for pardon, before he allows them to be “weighed,” as they term it.
