Cascade Pioneer, May 15, 1903

Mrs. Elizabeth Foster, one of tho oldest residents of Washington township,
Dubuque county, died at the home of Mrs. A. Cort, Jr., in Zwingle, May 10th
at the age of 93 years. She was born March 17, 1810, in Pennsylvania, and
married John B. Foster in 1828. In 1852 they came to Dubuque county. Twelve
children, eight of whom are now  living, were born to them, She was a remarkably
intelligent woman and a fund of information of tho early days.
