Mr. George Loeser former resident of this place died at Lamont Sunday evening at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steele, after a long illness. Deceased was 90 years of age. He was born Aug 6, 1850 in Barvaria and when 25 years old moved to Dubuque. He was married Nov. 26, 1878 at Dyersville to Catherine Attens and later they moved to Lamont. Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. H. C. Lanser of Rochester Minn., Mrs. Frank Pudil of Backoo, N.D., Mrs. Henry Myrton of Aurora, Mrs. Tillie Heiderscheit of Dubuque, Mrs. Thomas Donahue of Oelwein and Mrs. Steele of Lamont; two sons, Henry of Seattle, Wash., and Mike of Rochester; 33 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The funeral took place Tuesday morning at nine o'clock from his late home to St. Mary's church at Lamont, where requiem high mass was sung for the repose of his soul after which his remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Hazelton.
