    OLD SETTLER DIES
    Death of William Potts a Resident of Dubuque County Sixty Years

    At an early hour yesterday morning occurred the death of William Potts, a
well known and highly respected citizen of our city, who had resided in the city
and county sixty years. Mr. Potts was born in County Wexford, Ireland in 1819.
He at one time farmed in Prairie Creek township, and his wife, Bridget, died in
1878. He is survived by five children. The funeral will take place Tuesday from
the family residence, 87 Summit Street. Mr. Potts was well acquainted among our
older inhabitants, and was a man of upright character and a generous spirit.
