    The McGregor Times of Wednesday last, gives notice that the first
commencement exercises of the Upper Iowa University, at Fayette, will occur on
the 19th, 20th and 21st days of July, examinations for the 19th and 20th. The
annual sermon will be preached on Tuesday the 19th. An oration will be delivered
before the Philomathean Society on Wednesday evening by Willard Merrill, Esq.,
of Prairie Du Chien on Thursday morning. Rev. F. D. Eddy of Chicago, will
deliver an Anniversary Address before the literary societies, after which Prof.
Bugbee will deliver an Inaugural Address. In the afternoon at 2 o'clock the
regular commencement of exercises will take place.
