Wright County Reporter, 11/18/1966
Harold, 71, a lifelong resident of Franklin County & the Dows Community died 
at the Belmond Community Hospital after having been ill for some time.
He was born 6/21/1895 at Dows, IA, the son of Nels & Anna Marie Jasperson 
Riis. He married Gail Korth 1/14/1920 at Hampton. He was a veteran of WWI, 
serving in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Gail, 2 sisters & 1 brother, Mrs. Minnie Johanson 
of Latimer; Mrs. Claude Mossman of Marshalltown; and Herman Riis of Coon 
Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, 2 brothers and 3 
sisters.
Burial was in Coulter Cemetery.
