    RIVERTON. An incorporated town on the N. C. br. C., B. & Q. R. R., in
Fremont county, 30 miles southwest of Red Oak, 271 west of Burlington, and
6 southeast of Sidney (c h). The village has 2 churches, a public high school
and a bank. Ships stock, corn, wheat and oats. Population 700. Stage to
Sidney daily; fare, 75c. Exp., Am. Tel., W. U. Mail, daily. E. Smith, postmaster.
