The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************** The Evening Sentinel Shenandoah, Iowa 28 December 1937 Rites Conducted Funeral Services Held Monday for Axel Carlson Who Died Near Emerson Christmas Day Funeral services for Axel Carlson who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ellen Kling, near Emerson, Christmas day were held at the Harding Funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. A.C. Zellinger of the Emmanuel Lutheran church was in charge of the services. Music was furnished by a duet composed of Mrs. A.C. Zellinger and Mrs. Ralph Baker. They sang, "With Me" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Rev. Zellinger acompanied them. Mrs. Ruth Waller and Miss Lillian Broff cared for the flowers. Pallbearers were Nels Larson, John Anderzohn, Gus Moody, Ed Nelson, Pete Broff and M. Smith of Emerson. Interment was meade in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Carlson is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Kling; two sons, Oscar and Clarence Carlson of this city; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Rydberg of this city and Mrs. M.
