It was known to some that she was seriously ill but even to them the news was a shock. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lem Allen, and her sister Mrs. Seth Cox and brother were all with her at the time of her death. Her parents had been out there three weeks. Besides her husband she leaves three small children. Mrs. Smith had been ailing for some time with heart trouble and other complications and she had been confined to her bed for several weeks. She was a devoted wife and mother and it was a great trial to her to have to give up her children and leave them. She was a young woman only a little past 27, her 27th birthday having occurred on the 2nd of August. She was born on the home place here and was married about 7 years ago to Elmer Smith, son of Stephen Smith near here. After their marriage they remained in this vicinity until ago years ago they moved to near Centralia and it was there that she died on Tuesday morning of this week. The body was brought to her parents' home and the funeral will take place tomorrow conducted by Rev. Shedd pastor of the Presbyterian church of Shenandoah. Her body will be laid to rest in the Farragut Cemetery. The family of the deceased have the sympathy of their friends in their bereavment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
