Photo link: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ia/fremont/photos/obits/clarscott-obit.jpg Clarence Scott Clarence Everett, son of William and Mary Scott, was born at Riverton Aug. 7, 1892 and died Aug. 10 at the age of 59 years. He grew up in Riverton and was a farmer until six years ago when he moved to town to live with his invalid mother. He was married to Gladys Jenkins of Sidney in Nov. 1913, and ten children were born to them, seven of whom survive. His wife preceded him in death. I June, 1934 he was married to Blanche Powers of Hamburg and two children were born to them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, his father, two infant children, and one daughter, Mrs. Marie Mount, who died just recently. Those who survive are his mother; children Mrs. Faye Mount, and Mrs. Evelyn Powers, Hamburg; Mrs. June Vaughn, Baldwin Park, Calif.; Mrs. Mildred Jennings, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Mary Barrett, Sidney; Mearl and Lee, Jameson, Mo.; Helen and Everett Scott of Hamburg; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral rites were held at Shull Funeral home Monday, Aug. 13, conducted by Rev. Duane Manning. Music was by Mrs. Robert Anderson, assisted by Mrs. Wm. Stubbs. Casket bearers were Byron Ludington, Art Froman, Olin Miller, C. M. Parkison, Harold Mount, and Everett Monk. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery. SECOND OBITUARY: Funeral services were held at Shull Funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Duane Manning. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery. Clarence Everett Scott, son of William and Mary Scott, was born at Riverton, Iowa, Aug. 7th, 1892 and passed away at the Hamburg Hosputal Aug. 10, 1951, at the age of 59 years and 3 days. He attended Riverton school and grew to manhood here. On Nov. 27, 1913, he was married to Gladys Jenkins of Sidney. To this union were born ten children, seven of whom are living. He was preceded in death by is wife, two infant children, his father, and one daughter, Marie Mount. In June of 1934 he was married to Blanche Powers of Hamburg, and two children, Everett and Helen, were born to this union. He was a farmer until the last six years when he moved to Riverton to make his home with his mother, Mrs. Mary Scott, a semi-invalid. Those who survive are his mother, his children, Mrs. Fay Mount of Hamburg, Mearl Scott of Missouri, Mrs. Mary Barrett of Sidney, Mrs. Mildred Jennings of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. June Vaughn, Baldwin Park, Calif., Mrs. Evelyn Powers of Hamburg, Lee Scott of Jameson, Mo., and Everett and Helen of Hamburg. 18 grandchildren also survive him.
