Newspaper 1938/notes from his   grand daughter
William Jefferson Finley of Locust Grove died at his home.
He was born 05 Dec 1855 West Jersey twnsp, Stark Co. Ill.
His father was Andrew Jackson Finley and his mother was
Margaret Jane Carter.  He came to this area from Ill in
1879 and had a farm in this area and has resided here since.
He married Alice Sarah Snyder in Mar 1877 in Peoria Co,
Ill at the home of Henry Schenck.  They had the following 
children:   Edith May born in 1878 and married Ellsworth
Venters in California.   Edith died in a fire in 1903.
Claude LeRoy born in 1883 married Eva Lucinda McIntyre
in 1907.  They lived on the farm in Fremont Co Ia. their
entire life. He died in 1960.  Almeda Leona was born in 1855.
She married Earl Cornell in 1909 and died 1962 in Colorado.
Florence Golda was born in 1893 and she married Henry Adams
in 1912.   An infant [twin of Goldas] died in 1893.  
William Jefferson Finley died in 1938 and is buried at Locust
Grove Cemetery   Locust Grove Twnsp   Fremont Co Iowa
