Everything was done for him that loving hands and medical skill could do, but he gradually became weaker, quietly passing away. Mr. Fisher was a friend to everyone and the news of his death was saddening to all. "Coon" will be greatly missed in Hamburg as he took an active part in the business, social, and political life of this town. Cyrus G Fisher was born in Lineville, Iowa, November 6, 1857, living there for thirty years, when he moved to Fremont County, near Hamburg, and this has been his home since, with the exception of ten years spent in Red Oak. In 1903 he returned from Red Oak and took charge of the Lindell Hotel, which he conducted until 1906 when he bought the Julien Hotel. Cyrus married Miss Martha Jane Roberts in Lineville on November 14, 1878. To this union four children were born; Grace dying in infancy, Jesse C Fisher of St. Joe, Missouri, Verna Fisher and Mrs. L. H. Carder of Hamburg. The following brothers and sisters survive him; A. J. of Hamburg, J. A. of Leon, Mrs. Laura Huff of Gainsville, Mrs. A. A. Dudley of Larimer, and Miss Sadie Fisher of Manning. Those who attended his funeral from far away, aside from brothers and sisters were: Mrs. George Leekley, Arkansas City, Kansas, Mrs. John Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Earle Heasler of Red Oak. Mr. Fisher was a member of the IOOF, Ben Hur Yeoman, K & L of Security, and the M. E. Church which the membership he held in Red Oak. The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. A. A. Wallburn and interrment was made in the Hamburg Cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the widow, children, and other relatives in this sad hour.
