R. Livingston Answers Last Call This Week After an illness of over two years, H.R. Livingston passed away on the morning of October 14, about 8:40 o'clock. He was born in McDonough County, Ill, Jan 10, 1849, making him about 70 years old. He suffered a stroke of paralysis two years ago last July. He recovered from that so that he was able to walk at times with the aid of a cane. He gradually became weaker and the last six months until about a month ago, when he suffered another slight stroke, and complications of other diseases set in and he has been bedfast ever since, until the end came. He didn't seem to suffer much. Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Ira and John Livingston and Hattie Lightfoot; one sister somewhere in California; one brother in Bushnell, Ill; and a host of other relatives. He came here from Illinois and lived in Locust Grove township for about 40 years on the farm his grandson now lives on. About 15 years ago he and his wife came to Farragut to retire from farm life. He was a good, upright honest citizen and liked by all. He was a member of the Locust Grove M.E. Church for a good many years. His funeral services will be held at the Locust Grove M.E. church at 11:00 o'clock on Oct. 16 conducted by Rev. R.E. Harvey of Coin. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
