He was married to Dora Whisler, November 29, 1899 and in 1949 they celebrated their 50th anniversary with an open house. Into this family circle were born a son, Loren, and a daughter Hazel, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. John attended Tarkio College for a short time. He farmed before and after his moving into Farragut 24 years ago. As long as his health permitted he worked in his yard and his garden. Last spring, both he and Mrs. Livingston's health failed to the point that they were forced to give up housekeeping. Mrs. Livingston went to Melton's Rest Home, Hamburg and John, first to the home of his son, then to the Good Samaritan Rest Home in Tabor. Last Sunday he contracted pneumonia and died Monday October 16. Four brothers, two sisters, his daughter and one grandson precede him in death. His son Loren, a patient in Omaha was unable to attend his father's funeral and Mrs. Livingston was unable to be present. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
