The services were conducted by Rev. Day. The burial took place at the west cemetery. About four weeks ago Mrs. Harris came from her home at Moville Iowa, for a visit with her sister, Mrs. P.H. Lenon, of Guthrie Center. While there she was taken ill of typhoid fever which caused her death after about three weeks illness. Mrs. Harris was a daughter of W. K. and Maria Townsend. She was born in Oakland, Illinois, August 27, 1848. In 1866 her parents came to Panora. Here her marriage with Mr. W.J. Harris took place in 1870. After her marriage her home was for a number of years in Missouri Valley and for the past four years at Moville. Submitters note: Her full name was Florence Adelaide (Townsend) Harris, and was known as "Flora". She was the daughter of William K. Townsend & Maria Rutter. Her husband was William James Harris, known as "Jim". Jim was the son of Judge Daniel M. Harris, the former owner/editor of the Guthrie County Ledger newspaper. Mrs. Peter H. Lenon (Emma Baxley) is the half-sister of Flora (Townsend) Harris.
