She came to this country in 1854, with her father, four brothers and a sister, all whom preceded her into the Great Beyond. She made her home in Chicago until her marriage to Mr. John Theurer, at Princeton, Illinois, December 25, 1856. Mr. and Mrs. Theurer located at Mendota, Illinios,residing there and in that vicinity for thirty-five years. From Illinios, they moved to Guthrie county, Iowa. Here they established themselves on a farm where they made their home continuously until the death of Mr. Theurer in 1909. this dispensation abrupted a relationship that they maintained with singular devotion and mutual loyalty for fifty years. Fourteen children crowned this union, nine of whom are living-three sons: John of Lockwood, Missouri, Charlie of Casey, Iowa, William of Wellington, Kansas- six daughters: Kate, Anna and Julia of Lohrville, Iowa; Gertrude of Lake City; Carrie of Casey, Iowa; Adaline of Caldwell, Idaho and a step-daughter, Mrs. Jacob Croisant, of Casey, Iowa. All of these were present at the funeral except Adaline, resident as aboved noted, at Caldwell, Idaho. Mrs. Theurer has been ill, suffering extensively during these long weary months. Her release came at 10:30 p.m. Monday evening, June 9, 1913, when she passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Croisant, in the 78th year of her age. Funeral services were held at the Croisant home, Wednesday, June 11th, Rev. N.R. Miles of Lenox, Iowa officiating. Interment in the Menlo, cemetery. The Vindicator tenders ots earnest sympathy to the bereaved sons and daughters, mourning the loss of their venerable and beloved mother. Additional Comments: Barbara was my great great GRANDMOTHER.
