Wood is a young man who lives near Dunlap, and in company with John Mitchell and Evan Mize, on the evening of April 11 last, assaulted and brutally hammered and kicked to a state of insensibility and old gentleman by the name of Chevalier, who afterwards died from the effects of the injuries.
