IN MEMORIAM
The funeral of Mrs. William Dudley was held in the First M.E. church, of which
she was a member, on December 16, 1903, at 2 o'clock p.m.  The services were
very impressive and were conducted by Rev. Lynch, pastor of the church, and
Rev. Harmon, an old time friend of the family.  The esteem in which the good
lady was held was manifested by the large number of sympathetic friends
present and their beautiful floral gifts, which were laid on her casket sacred
to her memory.

Sarah Jane Frazier was born in Salem, Ia., April 13 1848, and died at the old
soldiers' home, in Fort Dodge, Kan., December 13, 1903, of paralysis.  She was
married to William Dudley in Eldora, Ia., on November 25, 1866.  She was the
fourth daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth McCrackin Frazier, pioneers of
Henry and Marshall counties, Ia.  After marriage she and her husband moved to
Colorado, where they resided ten years;  then they came to Kansas and have
spent the remainder of her life in and near Wichita, where she was favorably
and well known.  She left a husband and three foster children, one brother and
five married sisters to mourn her loss.  She took a great interest in anything
that helped to cheer and brighten the pathway of the old soldier.  Her father,
a brother, four cousins and her husband were all membeers of Company D, 14th
Iowa, and marched side by side during the Civil war.  Her remains were
interred in the Maple Grove cemetery near Wichita.
