	Sylvia M. Wasmund, 80, of Mapleton died Monday, Jan. 8, 1996, at a 
Sioux City hospital.
	
	Mrs. Wasmund was born May 24, 1915, in Danbury, the daughter of Henry 
and Hannah (Dorhman) Scheer.  She married Carl Wasmund Jan. 29, 1941, in 
Mapleton.   He died March 21, 1971.
	
	Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Dora and David 
Wren of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Shirley and Grant Scoles of Mapleton; three 
brothers, Edwin and his wife, May of Mapleton, and Lester and Alfred, both of 
Correctionville; three sisters, Maizel and her husband, Lawrence Buettner of 
Anthon, Helma and her husband, Don Krueger of Kingsley and Lorraine Sheer of 
Correctionville; five grandchildren; and two great granddaughters.
	She was preceded in death by a sister, Alverta; and three brothers, 
Aldre, Henry and Vern.
