Kelsall The question has been propounded in these words-who is this man Kelsall whom the Republicans are running for the Legislature? Well, he is a resident of Canton, where he conducts a little grocery store, with the post office in one corner. He is known to no one as ex-supervisor, but he is known to have run for that office once and was badly beaten. He was a private in the Army and displayed no more ability than did the average soldier, for which he has been very liberally rewarded by the post office for a number of years. He has marked business qualities which consists of giving short weights and obtaining good prices too. He is also known to be a bitter partisan who believes in giving Democrats “no quarters” when an advantage is obtained. He is also known by both Democrats and Republicans of his own township and neighborhood to be unfit for the place he now seeks. It is safe to say that he will not only be defeated, but will run behind his ticket, when it is known that many Republicans will vote for his opponent.
