L. W. KLASSEN The Rev. L. W. Klassen, the new assistant to the Rev. J. E. Linkenmeyer at St. Joseph’s Church delivered his first sermon here last Sunday and made a very favorable impression upon his listeners. Father Klassen attended St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, with the Rev. W. S. Slattery, a nephew of Miss Ella L. Slattery of this city and was ordained at the Cathedral in Dubuque last June. He was assigned to the Sacred Heart Church at Maquoketa, July 1 and came here October 1 for his new ecclesiastical post. Besides his clerical duties he will act as athletic coach for St. Joseph’s high school.
