B. POTTER Mr. L. B. Potter, living four miles out of town is the wealthiest man in the county, and has perhaps walked more miles than any other man in Iowa. He says that for 37 years he has walked into Bellevue and home again, on an average 350 times every year. And as the round distance, we find that he has walked 2,800 miles each year, or 100,600 miles in 37 years. Mr. Potter is the owner of fine horses, buggies and carriages, but prefers to go afoot. He never attempted to ride anything in his life except a mule, which pitched him into a mud hole, and since that time he has had no disposition to travel on horse or mule back or cared to ride behind them unless another driver had charge of them.
