Jackson Sentinel, Maquoketa, Iowa, April 26, 1869

RELIGIOUS MATTERS-

The revival in the Methodist Church still continues in the full tide of
successful operation. The Pastor, Mr. Swearingen, having become very exhausted
by his incessant labors since the revival began will probably close it sometime
this week. Very nearly a hundred have made a profession of religion, and about
eighty have been added to the church.

Our Methodist friends are making an effort to provide means for building of a
new house of worship, the present one being entirely too small. It is proposed
to build on Main Street.
