Whiting, who for two years was pastor of the Congregational Church of Bellevue, about seven years ago, died at DeWitt, Iowa, a week ago last Wednesday of lung fever. His reverence had many friends in Bellevue, who will regret to learn of his untimely death. Rev. Whiting was a young man, of more than ordinary ability, which made him a vigorous speaker. His ways were a little peculiar, but his honest object was to do good, and we believe the world is better for his efforts in the cause of morality. He was taken to his old home in Illinois for burial. Rev. Whiting leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss.
