Veteran Convention
Lost Nation Press, June 22, 1939 

CIVIL WAR VETERAN ATTENDS STATE CONVENTION 

Mark Harrison Morse, of Wyoming and a former resident of Monmouuth, attended 
the State Department convention at Iowa City on Monday and Tuesday. Mr. Morse 
had the distinction of being the oldest veteran present, at age 97. He served 
in Company F of the 31st Iowa Infantry during the Civil War. Mr. Morse was 
born in New Hampshire October 10, 1841.
