Harrington, for wounds received as a result of enemy action in Korea. According to official notice received with the award, PFC Harrington, a machine gunner in the 38th Infantry, Second Division, Eighth Army, was wounded near Wonju, Korea, on January 7. He is now a patient in Japan with frozen hands and feet in addition to wounds. During World War II, PFC Harrington served 18 months in Trieste, Italy.
