C. H. Beck on Historic Flights Lt. C. H. Beck writes that he was navigator on the flight that took Ambassador Henry F. Grady and his staff to London, Ambassador Grady is now in conference with the British regarding policies in the Holy Land. On a recent return trip, Lt. Beck was on the flight bringing Secretary of State Byrnes back from the initial Paris Peace conference. Lt. Beck is stationed at Westover Field, Mass., and makes regular flights from Washington to Paris and London, via the north Atlantic and C-54 Skymaster. While in Paris he attended the Bastille Day celebration which is to the French what the Fourth of July is to Americans. Lt. Beck is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beck, of Maquoketa.
