ACCIDENT IN MAQUOKETA

While firing a salute at Maquoketa last Monday on the reception of the news of 
Lee’s surrender, a cannon made in this city, burst, killing one man and 
breaking the leg of another. The mail carrier brought the news. The names of 
the men were not ascertained.
