Dorchester & Hughey Saw Mill Closed

The permanent shut down of Bellevue’s leading industry, the Dorchester & 
Hughey Saw Mill, is a hard blow to our county neighbor. Bellevue is 
unfortunate in being overshadowed by Dubuque, and for farm trade being 
continued to one side of the river. This, however, does not take from the town 
its wel-known advantages as a very pleasant place of residence.
