As many as a dozen persons have reported seeing the light during the past four nights and attempts to follow it have proven futile. They report the light sometimes appears to move with the wind and sometimes against it. William Marburger, who first reported the incident, believes it to be a balloon, as ropes were seen trailing it. Others in the community who have reported the mysterious balloon include Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Roe, Emil Tarr, Mrs. Lawrence Rickert, and the Marvin Meyer family. At first thought to be a lost weather balloon, the object resulted in little concern. Now it is a headache to law enforcement officials.
