Excessive study is supposed to have caused his death, the physicians not being able to assign any other reason. For several days prior to his death his brain was insensible to outside impressions, although all his other physical faculties seemed healthy. Charlie was an exceptionally good boy, having none of the bad habits common to youth, and was held in high regard by all his classmates, many of whom attended his funeral in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
