Abraham As was a moulder in the foundry at Barnes Brothers. He was past 26 years of age and had been married about two years. He leaves a young wife broken down with grief and an infant three months old. Many friends and relatives mourn his sudden demise. He was an industrious upright young man devoted to his little family and took pride in being a good citizen and a man among men. He was a Past Grand Officer of Jackson Lodge I. O. O. F. of Maquoketa. He carried a $2500 policy in the Odd Fellows life insurance, a worthy blessing which he leaves to support the widow and the fatherless infant. The funeral occurred at the Congregational Church yesterday afternoon and the floral decorations of the casket were as fine as ever before seen at a funeral in Maquoketa. The beautiful anchor was provided by request of relatives of deceased in Pennsylvania. The funeral cortege was a very long one, the fire department of which he was a member and the Odd Fellows were out in uniform and a long line of carriages followed the body to the grave.
