Died in this city Wednesday in his 83rd year. Herman Brown, Sr., died at the home of his son, Herman in this city, yesterday, at the age of 83 years, his demise being due to a general breaking down. He was born in Hanover, Germany, and emigrated with his family to this country in 1877, settling on a farm in Jackson county. He had been a resident of Bellevue for about a year. He leaves a wife, two sons and four daughters, thirty-seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His sons are: Herman and Frederic Brown; his daughters, Mrs. J. Bauman, Mrs. C. Bolte, Mrs Flegel, Mrs. Freitag. Mr. Brown served as a soldier in his native country and was highly esteemed by his fellow men. The funeral will take place Saturday at one o’clock p.m. from the Lutheran church, Rev. J. Lenz officiating.
