Robert J. "Bob" Chase 

January 28, 1929 - December 28, 2009 

Robert J "Bob" Chase, 80, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Monday, December 28, 2009, 
at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa. Funeral services were held on 
Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, 
where friends called from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Rev Edwin Moreano, Chaplain of 
Above & Beyond Hospice officiated. Burial was in the Esgate Cemetery, rural 
Maquoketa, Iowa, with military honors accorded by Timber City American Legion 
Post 75, O'Connor-Regenwether VFW Post 3633 of Maquoketa and Andrew AMVETS 
Post 62. Robert James Chase was born January 28, 1929, in Jackson County, 
Iowa, son of Myron James and Viola Elsie (Brundage) Chase. He attended Jackson 
County rural schools He married Delores Yates in 1993 in Moline, Illinois. He 
was a corpsman serving in the US Army and the US Navy. He worked for Farmall-
Intemational in Rock Island as a machinist for 21 years, retiring in 1983. He 
is survived by his wife, Delores Chase of Maquoketa, one sister, Joyce 
Switzer, of Maquoketa. 2 children, step-children, randchildren, nieces and 
nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ted & 
Eugene. Memorials are preferred.
