"Marge" (McCarron), age 89, passed away on November 26, 2012. She was born in Spragueville, Iowa and attended North Bend School, Spragueville and graduated from Andrew, Iowa high school. In 1944 she married World War II soldier, Dwain W. DeGear. She and her husband spent many happy hours fishing, hunting, and camping in Arizona's mountains and deserts. Marge was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and the Mayflower Society. She helped to found the DAR Apache Trail Chapter. She played the guitar and piano and was an active genealogist. Late in life she became famous for her knitting, often winning prizes and donating her work to hospitals, churches, raffles, and many worthy causes. Dwain passed away in 2006. Marge is survived by a son, Richard E. "Dick" DeGear of Chandler, and a daughter, Barbara J. "Barney" Nelson, granddaughter, Carla G. Spencer, and two great-grandchildren, Jorey and Riley Spencer all of Alpine, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the North Bend Community Center or Arizona National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. Wyman Funeral 115 S. Country Club Drive, Mesa, AZ is handling arrangements. Visitation at this location is scheduled 6-8PM Friday, November 30, 2012 with private burial on Monday December 3, 2012 at the Arizona National Memorial Cemetery.
