ANDREW P. EDWARDS- Death, the grim reaper, the King of Terrors, is ever abroad in the land. No respecter of persons, his unpitying hand falls alike upon the rich and poor, high and low, proud and humble, young and old. Sad it is when the remorseless hand of death falls upon the head of a dependent family. Wednesday of last week the sad intelligence of the death of Andrew P. Edwards, reached here, which occurred at his home, early the same morning. Mr. Edwards’ remains were brought here by rail from Anamosa, Friday morning, and interred in the Monmouth Cemetery. His body now rests beside his aged mother, and two little daughters, who long since have passed over to the silent majority. The deceased was an old resident of Monmouth Township. About twenty years ago, he with his family, removed to Monticello, where he continued to reside until last spring, when he removed to Cedar Rapids. The Saturday before his death he was taken with a severe pain in one of his wrists, accompanied by cold chills, which found no warmth, except a cold sweat. He continued to grow worse. Wednesday morning, while propped up in bed, his breathing became very short and hard, when all of a sudden he laid down and expired at once. He leaves a wife, the sister of the writer, and four children (two boys and two girls) to mourn his sad departure.
