He was one of Sabula's early pioneers, and operated a ferry boat at this place for some time, and also engaged in the Saloon business. He was an old river man and has served in the capacity of mate on some of the raft boats. Matt Hodson had been married three times and leaves a wife and 3 children and 2 stepchildren.
