"Billy," as he was familiarly called, had a very large acquaintance and was well liked for his gentle disposition and accommodating manners. He was born Dec. 12, 1851 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to America at the age of 16 years and went to Minnesota where he lived on the farm of an uncle until 1872, when he came to Maquoketa, In 1880 he was married to Levy Ringlep, who with two of the four children born to them survive him. Ten years ago Mr. Jacobsen was kicked by a horse on the head and breast and has been out of health ever since. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist Church, Rev.
