Miss Kennedy returned home from Dubuque where she had been visiting, last Saturday, feeling somewhat indisposed, but her condition caused no serious apprehension to her relatives until Monday afternoon, when she was taken seriously ill and died before medical assistance could be secured. Deceased was one of Dubuque oounty's successful school teachers, having taught several terms of school in Bernard and was greatly beloved by her pupils. Being a lady of many rare accomplishments and possessed of an amiable, kind disposition, she naturally drew around her a large circle of friends, who will sadly mourn her untimely death. But her loss will be almost irreparable to the gentleman, Mr. Joseph Welter, of Dubuque, to whom she was engaged to be married in the near future, and also to her aged parents, brothers and sisters, by whom she was greatly beloved, and who have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held Wednesday and was largely attended. Rev. Father Kelly conducted the services and interment being in St. Patrick's cemetery, Garry Owen.
