DONATUS RESIDENT SUMMONED The death of Mrs. Mary Anna Kirsch, an aged resident of St. Donatus, occurred last Friday after a brief illness. Mrs. Kirsch was born in Goetsingen, Luxemburg, April 5, 1847, being therefore 79 years of age. She came to this country with her parents when five years old and the family located in the St. Donatus neighborhood, so that the subject of this sketch was one of the oldest settlers of Jackson county. Mrs. Kirsch was the mother of eleven children, all living except one daughter, Sister M. Angelica. Her husband, Mathias, also preceded her in death. Those surviving are Charles and Nicholas of Roseland, Nebraska, John of Westbury, Oregon, Peter of Flasher, North Dakota, Mrs. Margaret Hoffman of Roseland, Nebraska, Mrs. Susan Hingtgen of Dubuque, Mrs. Victorine Stamen of Des Moines, Mrs. M. I. Krier of Haverhill and Misses Thresa and Josephine of home. Funeral services were held Monday from the Catholic church of St. Donatus conducted by the Rev. Father Valaster and interment was made at the Catholic cemetery.
