Lovell, who passed away March 3 at the home of her nephew, Guy Keller, 1257 Comanche Ave., was born in Marathon, Cortland Co., NY, June 8,1839. She was the daughter of James and Sophia Esmay and was one of a family of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death. The deceased was married to I.A. Lovell August 2, 1859, and to this happy union were born a daughter and two sons. The daughter died when a babe, one son Frank at the age of 16 years, and the other son, Pearl, died at the age of 41 years. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago. Mrs. Lovell had been an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church until she was confined to her home on account of poor health. She had been in poor health for several years and was a very patient sufferer. She was a woman of strong character and great fortitude, always cheerful and hoping for the best. She had made her home for the past four years with her nephew, Guy Keller, at whose home she passed away at the age of 81 years and 8 months. She leaves to mourn her death one step-son Dell Lovell, three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren all of Laurel, Miss., also several nephews and one niece. (Shirley's note: I'm sorry, I do not know in which newspaper this article appeared. I have the old, yellowed clipping. The year is not noted in the article, but her tombstone notes the date as March 3, 1921. Her husband's name was Isaac Allen Lovell) File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ia/jackson/obits/l/lovell2630gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/iafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
