Jackson Sentinel, January 11, 1894 

DIED 

NORTHROP-At his home in the Third Ward, Maquoketa, January 2, 1894, of 
pneumonia, Charles Northrop, aged 80 years. Mr. Norhrop was a born in 
Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont in 1814 and came Maquoketa in 1856. He was 
engaged in the furniture business for a number of years until a fire burned 
out his establishment. He leaves a devoted wife, Lucy, but no children. The 
funeral occurred from his late home Thursday, Rev. S. W. Heald officiating. 
Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery, Maquoketa.
