As thunderbolt from a clear sky death entered and took with him the mother leaving the children in deepest mourning. Death is very sad, but when it takes one as young as Letitia Phillips it is almost unbearable. In her passing South Garry Owen has lost one of its most noble women, a loving mother, and a true friend. Mr. Phillips preceded her in death several years ago. Mrs. Phillips leaves to mourn her untimely death five sons and four daughters, John Phillips, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Clem, Joseph, David, Bert, Mary, Letitia, Claire and Stella at home. The funeral was held from the home to South Garry Owen where a Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father A. J. Walsh assisted by Father Lien of Fillmore and Father Coffee of North Garry Owen. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. May her soul rest in peace.
