Mr. Poll was born in Hanover, Germany, February 2,1870, a son of Gerhardt and Theresa Poll. He emigrated to this country with his parents when twelve years of age, and resided on a farm in Jackson Township where he accumulated a competency and six years ago he came to Bellevue and made his home at Peter Maiers's Hotel. He possessed a quiet, unassuming disposition and will be missed among his relatives and acquaintances, who mourn his untimely death. He leaves one brother Henry and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Huilman. The body was removed from the hospital to the home of Henry Poll and the funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Catholic Church in Springbrook, the Rev. Father Knapstein officiating. Six nephews acted as pallbearers and burial was made in the church cemetery.
