Miss Potter was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Potter and a granddaughter of Elbridge Potter, the founder of Paradise, and during his life one of Jackson County’s most prominent citizens. Alda L. Potter was born at Paradise December 18, 1876, and here was reared to womanhood. She was a graduate of Bellevue High School, completing its course with the class of 1893. She was also a graduate of State Normal at Cedar Falls in the year 1897. She had been following teaching.
