He had been prostrated with lung fever for many days, but a fatal result was not anticipated until an hour before his death. Deceased was a member of the wellknown grocery firm of Reddin Bros., Thomas and Edward, Main street, between First and Second. He was a strictly honorable man and had the confidence of every one who knew him The parents of the deceased emigrated together from County Cork, Ireland, were married in New York, removed to Pennsvlvania and subsequently to Perry county, Ohio, where deceased was born about 48 years ago. His parents removed 45 years ago to Butler township, Jackson county, better known as Garry Owen. They had nine sons and five daughters. One daughter and one son, Maurice, are dead. Of the daughters, Hannah, is the wife of John Moore of Jones county, Ellen is Mrs. James Ryan of West Hill and two other daughters live on the homestead. Of the sons, Wm. and James live on the homestead, Michael and Patrick on farms near it, Frank in St. Louis, John is a merchant at Cascade. Mr. Reddin was married in this city to Miss Larkin. She survives him with three children. Two are dead. The funeral was held Tuesday morning from his late residence on Cardiff street. Interment was in Key West cemetery. Mr. Reddin was a resident of Dubuque for 17 years. He served for two years in the Army in the campaign against the Indians.
