LaMotte News, reprinted in the Jackson Sentinel, Maquoketa, Iowa, Oct. 9, 1902

Died at the home of Mrs. Chas. Schrader in Otter Creek, John Schrader, who was 
a brother to Charles Schrader, deceased, and with whom he made his home up to 
the time of his death of the latter since which time he continued to live with 
the Schrader family. He lost his eyesight several years ago and was about 
eighty years of age, a hard working honest man and well thought of by his 
neighbors. The funeral occurred Friday at Otter Creek, Rev. Father Leahy 
officiating.
